Huge scoop for the NYT "Circuits" section!

First, there's the astonishing collapse of the film camera market. By some tallies, 92 percent of all cameras sold are now digital. Big-name camera companies are either exiting the film business (Kodak, Nikon) or exiting the camera business altogether (Konica Minolta). Film photography is rapidly becoming a special-interest niche. - David Pogue, New York Times, February 2, 2006
Yes, you heard it there first: Kodak is exiting the film business. Who edits this stuff? Kodak has in fact discontinued film camera production for the U.S. market, a move that, in the case of Kodak, is not quite the same as "exiting the film business." And what a stupid headline ("Pixel Counting Joins Film in Obsolete Bin"). And Nikon is not exiting the film camera business, despite just discontinuing the majority of its film SLR models, the most notable two of which overlap with, preceded and are supplanted by the flagship F6, which is still in production.
