Reflections on a family quiz

Familiar: "a spirit often embodied in an animal and held to attend and serve or guard a person." So what animal would be your familiar, should you choose to accept one?
  • KHR - German Shepherd (!)
  • SAR - Hummingbird
  • MWR - Taipan
Yes . . . how are these people related again?

I'd be a little worried that our upcoming ARCTIC BLAST could keep my taipan from guarding me with the lethal alacrity I require, but otherwise I'm feeling pretty secure. Maybe I could get a warm-blooded one, it being an embodied spirit and all.

This would make an interesting variant on Rock Paper Scissors: German shepherd crushes hummingbird . . . hummingbird pesters taipan to death . . . taipan instantly kills German shepherd with overwhelmingly neurotoxic venom, primarily acting upon neuronal synapses and causing a decrease in neuromuscular action potentials producing clinical neurotoxic symptoms such as electrocardiographic abnormalities (sinus bradycardia and septal T wave inversion), ptosis, ophthalmoplegia, bulbar paralysis, and peripheral muscular weakness and also hemostatic failure due to prothrombin activators acting in concert with other venom components.

But how many of those ten-dollar words am I going to be able to fit on the bumper sticker along with "My taipan" and "your honor student"?

Addendum
  • RRR - White Horse

Strange that the creator of "Don't Trust Snakes" would
choose--even hypothetically--to trust one of the world's deadliest serpents as a familiar.

Yes, well, and if I really had that familiar I'm sure he would be happy if you wanted to reflect on this irony during your final moments of consciousness.
