"That was IT!?"

(In case you were wondering what I said out loud at the exact instant the credits began to roll at the end of the much-touted 92-minute film "A History of Violence.")

The mainstream critics seem to have seen a different film. A longer, more complex, much better film.

It's a really simple story and the dialogue isn't particularly great. I'm kind of curious what critics were saying all this crazy stuff. And, more importantly, why the were saying it.; April 10, 2006 1:58 PM
