Memo to posters on photography forum sites

M E M O R A N D U M

TO: Posters on Photography Forum Sites
FROM: MWR
RE: eBay
DATED: May 22, 2006
---------------------------------------------------

It's called "eBay."

Please stop referring to it as:

  1. ePay
  2. ePrey
  3. FleaBay
  4. The auction site
  5. The well-known auction site
  6. The famous auction site
Using terms 1 through 3 makes you sound like an idiot who imagines having a sense of humor.

Using terms 4 through 6 makes you sound like a different, even worse kind of idiot. What the French might call a "hyperidiot."

The French have a word for "hyperidiot"? I'm sure the Germans would have something.

No, I just made it up. Hence "might." But they did come up with "hyperpower."
