"Babe Ruth's Record" has been an oxymoron for 32 years, and who cares whether an artificially-enhanced liar has tied it?

Bonds Ties Babe Ruth's Record

Barry Bonds tied Babe Ruth today in his tumultuous pursuit of baseball'’s most treasured record. Connecting for his 714th home run at Oakland'’s McAfee Coliseum, Bonds equaled a once-hallowed number in baseball history on the path toward Hank Aaron's career mark of 755 homers. - New York Times, May 20, 2006
Who cares? The significant record is 755, and if there's any justice Barry Bonds will crap out before reaching it from some malady related to his consumption of "the clear."

There's obviously no telling how many home runs Hank Aaron and Babe Ruth would have hit if they had had the same chemical enhancements as Bonds. Maybe someone should ask Bonds his opinion about that.

You can't leave the big white guy out of any discussions regarding the home run record apparently. Sigh. If Barry Bonds gets close to breaking Hank Aaron's record, I will throw a fit of epic proportions. Here's hoping Bonds retires. SOON.
