Yet I somehow don't see Ben Roethlisberger ending his sponsorships and commercial appearances

"Some people feel that, you know, I probably should be doing that [public services announcements about motorcycle or helmet safety] and being a big advocate for that," Roethlisberger said from Los Angeles. "But for me, I'm going to let people make their own decisions ... So I don't think you'll see me doing any kind of billboards or advertisements." - Associated Press, June 14, 2006
I think that no matter what Ben Roethlisberger were to say in a public service announcement, people would still be making their own decisions. I don't see this as quite the big libertarian stand he does.
"Roethlisberger was scheduled to film a national television ad for Campbell's Chunky Soup with his mother, Brenda, and some of his Steelers teammates [the day after his motorcycle accident]." - Washington Post, June 13, 2006
I suspect that Roethlisberger will still happily be paid to prevent people from making their own decisions about such things as what soup to consume.

So, he rules out telling people something important for free, but he'll accept money to tell them something utterly trivial. He won't give it away, but he'll sell it. Hmm. He seems to have given these matters a lot of thought.
