But sometimes faith will be rewarded

I was a little skeptical that the Thanksgiving pie I made from a 1940 cookbook, "Cake Top Lemon Pie", would actually cook up as promised from a single filling: "The top will resemble a sponge cake and the bottom a custard."

But that's exactly how it turned out! And it was delish.
