The scourge of our age

I can't believe how many people, professionals even, have voicemail boxes with very limited recording time. I don't see how you can be in a client-service business, especially, and find it acceptable to have a voicemail system that cuts people off in mid-message, with no warning when time is running down. I'd almost rather get a busy signal. Recently I called a friend who is general counsel of a significant enterprise, and had to leave three messages in order to get my point across. And the "append" feature in that person's menu of options had not actually been enabled, so when I tried to append to the original message, nothing happened.

I am going to have to test my own cell phone and work email to see if this is happening.

By the way, I am making this entry from my new office and looking out at a lovely view of Elliott Bay (part of Puget Sound). Whee!
