One difference between the Nazis and Hamas: the Nazis never won a majority in a free election

GAZA (Reuters) - U.N. Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon condemned Israel for using "excessive" force in the Gaza Strip and demanded a halt to its offensive after troops killed 61 people on the bloodiest day for Palestinians since the 1980s. - Washington Post, March 1, 2008
Self defense need not be proportional. Self defense is to stop an attack. The people the Palestinian civilians elected to an absolute parliamentary majority in 2006 (and who later asserted full control in Gaza) are lobbing new missiles sourced from Iran into a significant city. It's sad that the response is killing noncombatants, but not all of those are children, and there's no reason to treat the adults in Gaza like children. They are adults and most of them who participated in the last election voted to put terrorists in charge of their country.
