Worse than "kidlets"
God, I shudder to hear or read that . . . I hesitate to call it a "term". It embodies a certain vaguely aspergic, affected knowing breeziness just repels me. It's one of those words that, as you are about to use it, should prompt you to bash the heel of your hand against your forehead—smartly—and ask "WHAT AM I TRYING TO ACCOMPLISH!?"
Labels: if I could stand it . . . I wouldn't be blogging about it, things that seem stupid to MWR (abridged version)

You've actually heard someone say "interwebs" when they weren't being ironic?
I've not made my point effectively.
I should have said " . . . vaguely aspergic, would-be ironic, affected knowing breeziness and tone-deafness for cliché . . ."
As with "kidlets", any attempt to use this word ironically will backfire. If all the kids on the playground were bantering ironically, that one loser outcast kid would keep coming up to them and trying pathetically to score points with "interwebs".
