"Sure, the kid was 14 . . ."
[G]un-rights advocate Dave Workman says people need to make better choices, not more laws. It's safe to say that if you could legislate against foolishness, we would hear very little from gun-rights advocate Dave Workman.
"Everyone is always looking for the quick legislative fix, as if you can legislate against foolishness," he said. "Sure, the kid was 14, and some adult supervision might be a good idea for a hunter that age. But again, age doesn't necessarily guarantee that you don't have the wear-with-all [sic] to take a bad shot." - www.komonews.com, August 6, 2008
I have two Ivy degrees. When I was 14 I was shooting croquet balls along our street with a giant slingshot made from Tupperware and six-foot loops of surgical tubing. I was attacking the neighbors' house with bottle rockets—without verifying their absence. It's not a prudent age.

Love picturing that slingshot. How many cars did you dent?
Zero. We fired them straight and true. We put a few dents in the reinforced windows of the middle-school gym, though. You know that little rise between the parking lot and path by the wall of the gym? We'd release the balls near the corner above the pool they shoot across the parking lot, go up that little rise and take flight. We probably only did that once.
But wasn't it more fun to shoot bottle rockets at Bill's house when he WAS home?
