Oh, why didn't I think of this?
Well, just simply put the iron on the envelope and iron it back and forth for five minutes in the high temperature range, and it killed all the bacillus spores that I used. - Marc Roberge, Science Contest WinnerSorry, but isn't this amazingly obvious? Is there some parallel universe where it wouldn't be obvious that placing anthrax spores in immediate proximity with superheated metal for five minutes would kill them? These spores are not from Venus or those undersea vents.
The best part is that it wasn't even the kid's own idea.

"Five minutes is a really really long time in the context of ironing."
Gee, couldn't you just microwave it? It seems like that might be faster.
Of course... I wouldn't think it would be such a great idea to nuke that extra slice of pizza AFTER treating the anthrax infected mail.
