Capsule summary

I'm going to introduce a small new feature in the blog called "capsule summary." In it I will reproduce certain very short statements I come across from time to time that seem to speak volumes about what's wrong in a certain realm of human endeavor, social activity, thought, etc.

Some of the capsule summaries will be attributed, others will not. Each will appear under a headline identifying what it is I think the capsule summary provides a good commentary about.

Two examples follow.
