Sorry for that brief hiatus
Sorry to deprive you of my spine-tingling company for a day, but I have been compelled to post no fewer than three letters in the
letters thread about that Garrison Keillor piece, in which I delicately eviscerate a couple of rather amusing attempts to find in the statute more or less the opposite of what is actually there (sometimes by citing unrelated sections of other statutes). For purposes of this blog entry, "rather amusing" means the sort of thing that in former days might have kept me from nodding off in Prof. Strauss's Legal Methods class. Not that this should keep you from sidling up to the old letters thread for your MWR fix.
Apparently statutory construction is a lot harder than I thought. God knows this is kind of the easy stuff.
