Sometimes it is necessary for an event to actually occur before we can even entertain a notion that it may be possible

So Gil Meche gets a five-year, $55 million deal with the Kansas City Royals. The round-million relationship between these figures and his lifetime 55-44 record and last year's 11-8 mark is, I'm sure, purely coincidental. Although it does emphasize that any connection between Meche's deal and rationality is also purely coincidental.

I just realized that one can no more write "more coincidental" than "more unique." There are no degrees of coincidence. But I could have been forgiven for writing "even more coincidental" to end the preceding paragraph.
