Great moments in character naming

The Astronaut Farmer

An astronaut (Thornton) of NASA is forced to retire so he could [sic] save his family farm. But he can't give up his dream of space travel and looks to build his own rocket, despite the government's threats to stop him. - IMDB.com

And get this: the character's last name really is Farmer! In case people are confused by the seriously stupid title . . . it works both ways! This must be modeled on that time Col. Gordon Cooper had to retire from the space program to shore up his family's ailing barrel-making business.
