Edwards's "not Hillary" bloc goes to . . . take a wild guess

Amid the speculation and uncertainty about which Democrat is most helped, in the abstract, by Edwards's withdrawal, I have not seen one particular observation, so I will make it myself. Without question, more Edwards supporters can't stand Hillary than can't stand Obama. A lot of them, if they could abide Hillary, would already have been supporting her. As in Iowa, she's not many people's second choice.

Speaking of Iowa, and since the Richardson endorsement is in play these days, I had it on good authority from an Iowa precinct captain for Richardson that in those caucuses "Richardson asked that his supporters go to Obama if he's not viable." Obviously a different calculus was in play there than in choosing whom to endorse, but it's still an interesting tidbit.
