Am I missing something here?
"Fitzgerald interviewed Woodward about the previously undisclosed conversation after [a senior administration] official alerted the prosecutor to it on Nov. 3 -- one week after Vice President Cheney's chief of staff, I. Lewis 'Scooter' Libby, was indicted in the investigation." - Washington Post, November 16, 2005Are we to believe that this senior official is someone Fitzgerald and his people never interviewed during the lengthy investigation? Wouldn't you think they would have thought to talk to everyone? Or do we suppose the official belatedly realized that he or she forgot to tell Fitzgerald's investigators about the Woodward detail during an earlier interview with them?
I suppose it was probably an honest oversight, although I think I would have to have been a Beltway insider for quite a while before I started to forget the times I had fed information to Bob Woodward.
