"It is better to be Socrates dissatisfied than a pig satisfied."

Our very own MWR has posted a letter commenting on this article in Salon about animal-rights philosopher Peter Singer. Yes, CLD, there is a typo in the first line of the letter. Oops.

I wonder if Singer really is "among the most influential philosophers alive today," as the author states. I doubt that he is in terms of his influence on other moral philosophers.

Actually, there are a couple of typos... I noted 3 in the first two paragraphs alone! ;) But it's still an interesting read ...
