What do I win?

I have just succeeded in losing both of those little black foam rubber things on the (lame) iPod ear buds at exactly the same time. I found one of them. I have a theory that these foam things fall off most often when the iPod is moved, removed from a pocket or otherwise deployed for use. They tend not to fall off when the iPod is resting quietly between uses. This is not the time to explore the myth of superlative Apple product design, but I will say that I have only ever uttered the phrase "but that's impossible: it's a Mac" in a tone redolent with irony (I know that's hard to imagine, but try). As this morning when my friends were driving some 40 miles to get some Mac problem looked at.

But what of this? I was talking about those lame little foam things. Now I think I might really be out of spares (they give you a small supply with the headphones initially because this is cheaper for them than retooling some factory in China to make ear buds with a more propitious design). Now I guess I will have to order a fresh stock of spares.

YET I ENDURE.

I just used the iPod headphones without the foam things. They never stay on, and the ear buds are fine without them.
