Who guards the guardians?

I wonder if the Seattle Police Department has a set of rules for which laws it is fine for officers to disobey. Clearly, they are allowed to park wherever, such as up on the sidewalk across from Starbucks while getting coffee, or in the red zone blocking the bus stop in front of QFC, while getting a snack there. Oh, or in the left turn lane in front of QFC—can't forget that one.

The bicycle officers can ride on the sidewalk, as cyclists are forbidden to do. A couple of these almost ran me over about 15 minutes ago, which may or may not have occasioned this entry.

I would feel happier and SAFER if I always observed my police officers obeying all the different annoying laws.
