Naming rights

Does it strike you that "Emirates Team New Zealand" (the America's Cup runner-up) is probably as close as we'll get to one country acquiring naming rights to the national athletic team of another country?

I realize it's named for Emirates Airline (wholly owned by the government of Dubai, like Barneys but unlike any of our fine, totally secure port facilities).
